Despite its inability to turn a profit, the New Carlisle Pool is being considered for a $60,000 cash influx next year, according to the 2016 budget proposal presented Monday.

The decision to keep the pool open rather than retain deputies in New Carlisle has caused controversy in town, and this budget proposal is sure to be polarizing. Main and Lake has come up with 5 better ways for New Carlisle to spend $60,000 than by pumping it into the local pool.

8 More Homemade Signs Spotted in New Carlisle

A photo was recently shared to the popular local Facebook group “You Know You’re From New Carlisle If…” that depicted a homemade sign advertising “heroin for sale” with an address listed. The picture sparked a lively discussion about the affect drug abuse and the drug trade is having on New Carlisle, as well as some steps to improve the situation in the future.

Main and Lake has discovered more homemade signs that have been placed in the Smith Park area after the “heroin for sale” sign was discovered.

Great Moments in New Carlisle History: The Great Heroin Bust of 2014

This is the next installment of an ongoing feature at M&L called Great Moments in New Carlisle History. The series will focus on some of the amazing, noteworthy, infamous, and heartwarming moments that have occurred in our town. 

Drugs, and heroin in particular, have become the scourge of middle America. Sadly, New Carlisle is not exempt from this plague. Last July, however, a refreshing ray of sunshine blasted through the dark, stormy, disgusting cesspool known as the New Carlisle drug trade.
