City Council Disrespect or Inside Joke? A Main & Lake Investigation

A recent post to the popular Facebook page You Know You’re From New Carlisle If….. has caused quite the uproar. At a recent New Carlisle City Council meeting Councilman Bill Lindsey was about to give the customary invocation, and the sound of someone saying “you’ve got to be kidding me” was overheard by fellow councilman Ethan Reynolds. Councilman Reynolds posted a video of the incident, along with the following message:

New Carlisle Graffiti Bandits Strike Again, What Does it Mean?

Last fall, New Carlisle’s gorgeous bike trail was deluged with graffiti, which Main & Lake had decoded by a professional symbologist from the University of Cincinnati. Either the culprits are back at it, or we have a new group responsible for desecrating New Carlisle’s streets and landmarks.

With the New Carlisle graffiti bandits striking again, we once again reached out to a professor of symbology to provide some information as to the meaning of these paintings.

Lacking Actual Police Presence, New Carlisle’s Grammar Police Step Up

Many New Carlisle residents, past and present, flock to the popular Facebook group “You Know You’re From New Carlisle If…” to discuss the town’s history, share news, review local businesses, and connect with good people from the area.

Inevitably, things can turn toward the negative from time to time. But a new trend has popped up in the group: grammar police. And the rest of the town could learn a thing or two from them.
